Ground was broken in 1914, and five years later 2,500 people were working in the factory. As a former site of the steel industry, Areal Böhler has a long history. In the age of Industry 4.0, the area has undergone a transformation, but the roots are still there for all to see: The "Alte Schmiedehalle", "Glühofenhalle", "Kaltstahlhalle" und "Altes Kesselhaus" are still the names of parts of the listed buildings. In this millennium, however, fashion, healthy food and fine arts are on display. The Areal Böhler covers a total area of 230,000 square metres, of which the six halls alone provide 18,000 square metres of space and can be linked together. A further 10,000 square metres is available for outdoor events.
