Clarion Hotel Karlatornet Ready for Check-in
Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet opened its doors on September 1st, welcoming the first guests to Gothenburg’s new vibrant meeting point for conferences, hotel guests, and locals.
Gothenburg’s newest hotel venture, Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet, is located next to Northern Europe’s tallest building and offers 300 hotel rooms. On the 58th floor of Karlatornet, the hotel’s high-class rooms and suites are located, making them the highest hotel rooms in Sweden.
Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet embodies a warm, cozy atmosphere with a design rooted in the contemporary new Scandinavian wave, with a nod to the 1960s. The interior designer’s inspiration comes from the concept "the golden days of skyscrapers," referring to a period when skyscrapers represented significant progress in architecture and the new modern world.
The hotel offers an international feel with spectacular ceiling heights. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the reception, where soft and hard materials like steel and leather dominate. By the large and inviting fireplace, guests can enjoy a drink in the signature Living Room bar, which shines with golden brass.
The hotel rooms welcome guests with warm gray tones and a rusty orange that contrasts with a muted green tile in the hotel’s bathrooms. Throughout the hotel’s various facilities, guests will find custom-designed lamps and other interior details inspired by the silhouette of Karlatornet.
“We want Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet to be a meeting place for guests from all over the world, as well as for locals from Gothenburg and Lindholmen who want to experience our offerings,” says Magnus Östlund, CEO of Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet.
Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet offers 15 modern and bright conference rooms, equipped with the latest technology, making it an ideal location for both national and international conferences. If you want to take your meeting to new heights, it is also possible to book one of the suites on the 58th floor, which, with its 108 square meters, offers a completely unique meeting space in Northern Europe’s tallest building, with sensational views of Gothenburg’s skyline. The hotel also offers a modern and elegant banquet hall that can accommodate 200-400 guests, depending on the event.
The hotel also features a gym and spa section in the new Elements Spa, where a wide range of facial and body treatments, a lounge pool, an infrared sauna, and a dry sauna are available. Elements Spa is open to both hotel guests and residents of Karlatornet and other Gothenburg locals.
“At Elements Spa, we want guests to be able to forget about everyday life for a moment and feel like they’re in their element. We welcome everyone to treat themselves to a bit of relaxation and luxury in everyday life at our beautiful city spa,” says Malin Finn, Hotel Manager at Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet.
On the hotel’s ground floor is the restaurant NÒR, where Nordic cuisine meets European flavors with a twist. The concept is already present in several Strawberry hotels across the Nordic region. This is the first one in Gothenburg. The restaurant offers bold flavors and a lively, buzzing atmosphere where hotel guests meet locals.
“The idea with NÒR is for the restaurant to become the neighborhood’s main hangout, like a second living room for our guests. We want to create an international yet relaxed atmosphere,” says Johan Svensson, F&B Manager at Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet.
Clarion Hotel® Karlatornet in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, opened its doors on September 1, 2024.
