Strawberry Re-finances with commitment to emissions cuts With an ambitious goal of being emission-neutral in its own operations by 2030, Strawberry has now entered into a sustainability-linked loan agreement with DNB where the interest rate is controlled by the hotel company's climate accounts. Strawberry Hospitality Group has recently refinanced a loan of NOK 2.8 billion with DNB and tied the margin determination to the company's sustainability work. – We set what we ourselves thought was a rather ambitious goal of being emission-neutral in its own operations by 2030. Thanks to the wholehearted support of our colleagues with fantastic efforts, we are now taking it a step further and committing to a sustainability-linked loan that gives us further incentive to continue the emission cuts in our own organization, says Torgeir Silseth, CEO of Strawberry. Carrot and stick So far, the hotel company has managed to reduce emissions by around 35 percent compared to the base year 2022. If it manages to maintain the pace, Strawberry will receive better loan terms than with traditional financing. – At the same time, this is also about us committing ourselves financially to achieving the emission reductions we have set ourselves. So far, there has been no risk in setting the targets in itself. Now it will be both a carrot and a stick, says Silseth. Mutual dependence Both Strawberry and DNB have high ambitions to be a driving force in the Nordic business community for a sustainable transition. While Strawberry wants to give guests the opportunity to choose more sustainably, DNB has an active goal of advising companies to cut emissions. An initiative that Divisional Director at DNB, Trine Loe, is proud to promote. – We are proud to be able to advise our customers on combining sustainability and financing. The solution we offer places increased demands on data collection and transparency around the companies' sustainability strategy. For DNB, it is important that our customers work well with their sustainability goals, including emissions. For us as a bank, customers' emissions are the largest part of our reported emissions. If we are to achieve our goal of being Net Zero in 2050, we depend on having ambitious customers like Strawberry who work well with this, says Trine Loe.

With its 656 hotel rooms, congress hall, restaurants and bars, Strawberry's new hotel at Arlanda will be Stockholm's largest hotel and the Nordic region's largest airport hotel. The property owner is Swedavia Real Estate. The hotel will open in the first quarter of 2029. Interest in running Arlanda's new hotel has been significant. After a thorough evaluation process, property owner Swedavia Real Estate decided that Strawberry was the operator they wanted to move forward with. "The need and demand for airport accommodation at Arlanda remains high. It feels fantastic for us to be able to offer a full-service hotel of this size as part of Arlanda's development. We are very pleased that the new hotel will be operated by Strawberry. The hotel will be a strong complement to the existing hotel offering at Arlanda and an important arena for the opportunity to meet at Sweden's largest airport," says Jesper Sandahl, CEO of Swedavia Real Estate. And having been active in the hotel business at Arlanda since the 1990s and now operating three hotels at the destination with almost 1400 hotel rooms, Strawberry knows the market well. This is about continuing to contribute to developing Arlanda as an airport and its strong position as an attractive airport. The new hotel will have a large congress hall that allows for various gatherings, with space for 1,400 people, as well as conference facilities for approximately 400 guests. There will be a restaurant with several different concepts and social spaces, as well as a specially designed, green and lush outdoor environment for a relaxed stay in the hotel's courtyard. Construction will start in 2027 and the first guests can check in during the first quarter of 2029. Guests will then have access to the hotel's full range of services directly adjacent to Terminal 5 and SkyCity. The hotel, which goes by the working name "Skywalker", will be run by Strawberry's hotel chain Quality Hotel. From today, on Tuesday 19 November, Strawberry and Norwegian's new loyalty currency, Spenn, will be available on the market. Spenn makes it easier to earn and use points across loyalty programs, giving members greater flexibility and more to choose from. From today, Norwegian Reward and Strawberry will use their new loyalty currency Spenn, with the ambition to include more well-known brands and partners in the near future. Members of Strawberry will now be able to use Spenn for full or partial payment of overnight stays, earn and save Spenn together with family and friends, as well as use and earn Spenn with several partners. - Spenn is not a loyalty program, it is a new Nordic loyalty currency that gives our members even more and better experiences, says Petter A.
