The Zoo of the Future is becoming reality in Leipzig. The innovative concept that combines species-appropriate husbandry with exceptional animal encounters for the visitors and the commitment to global engagement for species conservation is being implemented successfully since 2000. More than 1.7 million visitors annually discover the urban jungle right in the middle of Leipzig. By following the master plan Zoo of the Future Zoo Leipzig has developed into one of the most modern zoos worldwide. The most ambitious project to date is the Tropical Experience World Gondwanaland, where visitors are taken on a trip through a primeval rain forest - the only one of its kind in Europe.

Zoo Leipzig’s event and theme gastronomy locations offer a suitable atmosphere for events of all kinds; conventions, receptions, workshops, family celebrations and large-scale events for up to 1700 guests.

In the function rooms of Tropical Experience World Gondwanaland events will become memorable – there is a spacious event area decorated in Asian style as well as two event rooms that can be used flexibly. In addition, a boat trip on the jungle river or a walk through the tropics of Leipzig contribute to a successful top-class event.

The African-style Kiwara-Lodge treats you to African-inspired drinks and African specialities that are prepared on the spot. Whilst enjoying the view over the vast Kiwara Savannah at sunset, every evening will be turned into an unforgettable experience.

In addition to two event rooms, Hacienda Las Casas offers a large, beautifully restored room for your event. On a warm summer day, the roofed patio with the adjacent beer garden is ideal for pleasant get-togethers savouring South American delicacies or for starting tours through the Zoo.

The restaurant Palmensaal, located right next to the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo, focuses on light, seasonal and regional cuisine and provides the culinary extra during the visit to the Zoo.

During summer, the African Jungle Village, the event area at the Kiwara Kopje as well as the grand scale historic Concert Garden form a fascinating backdrop for you and your event. Zoo guides take the guests on a discovery tour through the Zoo and regional and international artists will thrill you with their performances. Our gastronomy partners Marché Restaurant Deutschland and Sodexo Services will provide the delicious catering.
