
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA), in collaboration with key partners including the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), and the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC), among others. The event is scheduled to take place from May 21 to 24, 2025, at the Speke Resort and Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala.
This year's expo, themed “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, aims to bring together tourism stakeholders, international buyers, investors, and media representatives to experience Uganda’s diverse tourism offerings. The event also serves as a platform to showcase Uganda’s unique attractions and experiences, enhancing its visibility on the international tourism map.
Additionally, the “Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda” campaign was launched alongside the expo announcement. This initiative encourages Ugandans to share their most captivating tourism experiences through videos, photos, and written content. The best stories will be selected and featured during the expo.
The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), is an annual tourism and travel trade show that is organised by the Uganda Tourism Board. Each year, the expo brings together tourism value chain actors and stakeholders under the Business to business and Business to Consumer formats, for networking opportunities, business deals.
POATE 2025 will be held at the brand-new venue - Speke Resort Convention Centre, Munyonyo, Kampala from 21st to 24th May 2025. For the ninth time, Uganda’s doors will be open to 70 hosted buyers, over 5,000 trade visitors and consumers during the three-day expo in the heart of Kampala. Both Leisure and MICE tourism will blend seamlessly, with a direction skewed towards global emerging trends.
