As a DMC specialising in South America and Africa, what are the values and commitments that drive you daily?
Doriane Fustec: Our business is based on a strong conviction. Tourism can - and must - be a lever for positive change. That's why CSR is at the heart of our strategy. We integrate social and environmental issues at every level of our operations: fair working conditions, local employment, employee well-being, reducing our carbon footprint... This is reflected in concrete actions such as the dematerialisation of documents, teleworking and responsible management of resources.
What concrete actions have you implemented in the field?
Doriane Fustec: Our commitments are reflected in concrete projects, jointly developed with local players. In Mexico, we are helping a community to become self-sufficient in energy and food. In Peru, we have co-developed a glamping camp run by local people. In Brazil, we are contributing to education by supplying teaching materials. In Chile, we have facilitated digital access via Starlink antennas. In Tanzania, we design immersive experiences in remote villages, promoting cultural transmission and economic inclusion. And in Kenya, we are working with a local NGO (https://dasererit.wixsite.com) to support projects that have an immediate impact and provide access to education.
Do you incorporate these values into your business events?
Doriane Fustec: Absolutely. Our business events incorporate these commitments. We favour short circuits, transfers on foot, eco-responsible objects and, above all, meaningful experiences. Meetings with communities, craft workshops, shared meals: every stay becomes an opportunity for exchange and awareness. We make meaning a vehicle for impact.
What message would you like to send to companies and event agencies about CSR?
Doriane Fustec: Our message is simple. CSR is not a constraint, it's an opportunity. An opportunity to reinvent the event industry, to give it back meaning and impact. By promoting our regions and choosing committed partners, together we can build a model that is more sustainable, more humane and more relevant. In addition, our group runs a network of greenUp ambassadors, who are involved in workshops on subjects such as digital sobriety, responsible purchasing or the integration of CSR functions into our tools. We encourage the sharing of best practice to create a virtuous circle. After all, our business can be a formidable catalyst for change.
