Meet In Wales is contributing to the IMEX knowledge program this year, presenting experienced marketer Roger Pride in a session that will help events stand out in a “sea of sameness”. The session will take place at 10.05am tomorrow (Wednesday, May 21) in the Ocean Room, Inspiration Hub Hall 9, and will include tips, tests and techniques for events and destinations alike.
Roger Pride has decades of experience marketing destinations, consumer brands and places around the world, not least his home country of Wales. Here, he’ll present new and contemporary strategies on aligning customer experience with event communication, as well as techniques including The Somerset Test, Using your LOAF’s, and Moments of Truth, all set around challenging conformity and standing out.
The session is relevant and open to event planners, destinations and event businesses looking to upscale their marketing. It will also cover place making, place branding, and place alignment, in a wide reaching but powerful presentation.
Roger commented, “We’ll be in the Ocean Room talking about standing out in a sea of sameness. This has never been more important to modern marketers, not least in the highly competitive world of events. We hope this session will make you think, make you smile and make you question. At the end, hopefully, you'll be inspired.”
Heledd Williams, Head of Business Events, Meet In Wales, commented, “We’re so thrilled to be contributing to IMEX’s outstanding educational program, and to present Roger to the show’s community. He often calls us “a clever little country called Wales”, and he’s a great ambassador for this notion. We hope people make time to listen to what he has to say.”
Outside the session, Meet In Wales will also be bringing the destination to life for international event planners, working in partnership with booth partners, Celtic Manor and ICC Wales, two businesses well versed in both the Welsh experience, and standing out from the crowd.
