The sunny side of solar panels

First things first: did you see those solar panels on the roof? Covering 26,000 square meters, EXPO Greater Amsterdam’s sunroof is a real eye-catcher. On a sunny day, it generates enough power to keep the venue running and share energy with the neighborhood. Thanks to all the natural daylight pouring into this repurposed greenhouse, the heating and LED lighting can often stay off when the sun is shining.

24,000m² indoors, 21,000m² outdoors

Local spin-off

Hosting your event at EXPO Greater Amsterdam means the surrounding community benefits too. The venue consciously works with local suppliers and regularly teams up with social initiatives. Just last year, 1000 trees were planted on the premises and a local social workshop crafted birdhouses from leftover wood after trade fairs. Those birdhouses can now be spotted all around the venue.

With a Golden Green Key and YOIN Excellent Meeting Places certification, you can count on this venue to make sustainable choices. On top of that the venue is centrally located and easily accessible. Located less than 20 minutes from both Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport, this event venue feels closeby, whatever direction you're coming from. A bus stops right at the front entrance every 7 minutes, and with over 3,200 parking spaces, there’s always room for your (electric) car.
