Paola is an architect and urban researcher specializing in cooperative and climate-responsive urban development, user-driven urban regeneration and strategic planning on both a to regional scale. She leads the DFG-funded project KOPRO Int., investigating urban co-production and innovative spatial practices internationally. Since 2022, she holds the Chair of International Urbanism and Urban Design at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Since 2018, she has been Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where she co-founded a double degree program in architecture and urban design. From 2011 to 2017, she directed the Planungslabor at TU Berlin, a project recognized as a National Urban Development Project for its pioneering teaching and research. As a partner at u Lab Studio in Berlin, she works on interdisciplinary, cooperative planning and design. She contributes to European and international projects such as URBACT and Urban Climate Labs, and advises organizations including Cities Alliance and GIZ. Her work has been presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2017) and the Favara City Biennale (2021).
