Bel Hanson is an event strategist who works for the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB). She continually strives to improve programming, networking and collaboration for attendees at each event while ensuring sustainability and legacy are priorities.
Bel has been a Certified Meeting Professional and Certified Digital Event Strategist since 2019. She is passionate about sustainability and the long-term impact events can have. Bel speaks regularly on legacy and sustainable practices in the events industry, including as a keynote for a PCMA chapter event and as a featured presenter in the upcoming PCMA/AGU Sustainability Course. She has also been a guest on The Road Ahead with Les Goldberg podcast and VisitScotland's COP26 – and the Journey to Change series. She is the current President of the MPI Heartland Chapter and lives in Johnston, Iowa with her husband, three kids and adorable dog.
