Most Circulair Region Of Europe

A circulair wind of change is coming from the North: In 2025 Friesland and the Wadden Islands are ‘Most Circulair Region of Europe’. Friesland is working to make the province circulair in quite a unique way. It’s not just governments taking the initiative but primarly Frisian people themselves. Business, government, non-profits and schools have come together to form the ‘ciculair Friesland Associations’. In 2025 we celebrate 10 years of the association with unique projects and events throughout the year. Furthermore we celebrate Arcadia 2025. Arcadia is an international arts and cultural event in Friesland that in 2022 presented its first triennial as a follow-up to Cultural Capital of Europe Leeuwarden-Fryslân. For 100 summer days in 2025 artists and culture makers will take take us into a world of wonder, amazement and inspiration. They will do so together with thousands of Frisians and many partners.
