Hall 1 is one of the most distinguished spaces within the RDS, with spectacular floor-to-ceiling stone wall features and a balcony overlooking the ground floor. It is located on the Merrion Road side of the RDS.

Hall 1 works well as a central hub for large events as it is adjacent to Hall 2 (Shelbourne Hall), Hall 3 (Serpentine Hall) and Hall 4 (Industries Hall), and it is often used in conjunction with either one or all of these spaces.

There are also many breakout rooms accessible from the Hall 1 balcony, including the Merrion Room and the President's Room.
