Carolyn Patterson-Kemper is an accomplished leader in the global events sector. She serves as Director of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Accreditation Programs at the Events Industry Council (EIC) and is an Industry Professor for San Diego State University’s master’s program in Meetings and Events.
Carolyn has been actively involved with several industry associations, including serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Potomac Chapter and as a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
A 2026 recipient of both the Event Industry 50 over 50 and the Top 100 Blacks in Events Network awards, Carolyn is dedicated to advancing innovation, mentorship and leadership across the industry.
Outside work, Carolyn enjoys traveling, attending dance events, and spending time with family and friends.
