Leipzig Opera - consisting of opera, musical comedy and Leipzig ballet - is the second oldest German music stage after Hamburg. It represents more than 300 years of the city’s opera tradition and it is the third oldest bourgeois music theatre stage in Europe. The outstanding international reputation is shaped by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, important soloists, an award-winning choir and the Leipzig Ballet.
